Casting Call for Face of Maritime Beauty Pageant Begins

All is set for the 2019 auditioning of contestants into the 4th Edition of Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) beauty pageant. In a press statement issued on Thursday in Lagos by the organisers of the Pageant, Platform Reporters, necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free casting this Saturday, Sept 7, 2019. According Mr Sylvanus Obasi, the Project Director of FOMI:  "Over 100 contestants have registered and are ready for auditioning on Saturday. We are in touch with the contestants via our WhatsApp platform. "We have sent out the audition requirements in terms of dress code, hairstyle, type of make-up allowed as well as what to expect during the audition. "The girls are in high spirit and we envisage a successful audition on Saturday", Obasi stated. New Administrator Takes Over Panama Canal

The Panama Canal receives it's new Administrator  Dr. Ricaurte Vásquez in a ceremony held at the Panama Canal Administration Building in Panama City,. Dr. Vasquez becomes the fourth Panamanian Administrator of the waterway shortly before it celebrates its 20th year on December 31, 2019. He brings to the table a post 30 years experience in financial and international capital market management and in the public sector. Vásquez takes over from  Jorge L. Quijano, who was Canal Administrator since September 2012. Quijano led the waterway until the finalization of its Expansion Program, the largest enhancement project ever undertaken by the waterway. Lagos Launches N4b Capital Project for Women

The Lagos State Government has launched a N4b (four billion naira) funding initiative for women owned businesses. The capital initiative is in conjunction with Access Bank Plc under the management of Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF). The fund seeks to empower female business owners with both monetary and capital capabilities. This is in order to alleviate the challenges facing start-ups and Small, Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu sharing his thoughts said: "An important part of our mandate is to lift Lagosians out of poverty. "I am confident about the roles our mothers and sisters will play in the future of Lagos and our country." Mr. Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that the scheme will be a driver to achieving economic stability for the women entrepreneurs.
