Federal Government to Host Global Maritime Summit In Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to host a 2-day Global Maritime Security Summit soon to address the ongoing piracy menace engulfing the Gulf of Guinea. The conference is slated to address a clearer understanding of security issues, seek a tailored short and long term solutions as well as proffer coordinate efforts to strengthen regional and international collaborations to end insecurity challenges in the region. The Summit is organized by the Federal Ministry of Transportation and the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The Summit is expected to host high profile speakers drawn from all over the world and will hold from October 7th-9th, 2019, in Abuja.
