FOMI SET TO FUND MARITIME WOMEN
Platform Reporters the organizers of Face of Maritime International has decided to pay the 3 beneficiaries of it’s Women Empowerment Scheme on Friday the 13th of December 2019.
The call was made by the CEO of the organization Mr. Sylvanus Obasi when he sent a message to the women promising to pay off the sum this week.
It would be recalled that the organisers of the just concluded FOMI beauty pageant introduced a new program termed Women Empowerment Scheme where it plans to provide indigent women, students and business women living in maritime communities with funds to support their welfare.
The fund is meant to act as a cushion effect to aid the women scale up their businesses as well as off-set pending bills.
Mr.Obasi expressed optimism at the initiative even as he thanked the women for their patience.
The beneficiaries are Mrs Nkechi Onwubali, a caterer who sells puff-puff to feed her children. She sleeps in her shop because she cannot afford to pay for an apartment.
Others include Hannah James a student who lost her father last year and has not been able continue with her education due to lack of funds.
Also Chika Uchechukwu a trader who sells clothes to support her family.
