NPA Assures Stability at Ports as Maritime Workers Suspend Industrial Action

The management of the Nigerian Ports Authority has expressed optimism at the suspension of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria industrial action.

The industrial action had entered the second day with a total grounding of operations and activities at the ports.

Making this known in a statement, the General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications, Mr. A.A. Jatto assured that normal port activities have resumed at the nation's gateway.

He maintained that hence industrial peace and harmony will ensue in the ports.

Mr. Jatto on behalf of NPA management apologised for all inconveniences the strike might have caused port users and other stakeholders.

He therefore promised to ensure that issues that led to the strike are resolved soonest in the national interest and further enhance its mandate to deliver efficient services for customer satisfaction.
