NPA Publishes List of Government Agencies Domiciled in Ports.

Press Statement As part of efforts to improve efficiency in port operations, the Vice President and chairman of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has directed the Nigerian Ports Authority to ensure that only eight federal government agencies are allowed to operate and have physical representation at all port locations in the country. According to the directive, agencies allowed representation at the ports are:   Nigerian Customs Service (NCS); Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA); Nigeria Police Force; National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control(NAFDAC); Department of State Security (DSS); Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA); Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and Port Health. Agencies not mentioned in the list above should, according to the directive, vacate the ports premises and carry out their regulatory functions from outside the port locations. Starz Group to Provide Sea Time for Best Graduating Marine Students

The CEO of Starz Investment Company Engr Greg Ogbeifun has offered to provide automatic sea time for whoever emerges as the Best Graduating Nautical Science Student and Best Graduating Marine Engineering Student in 2018.
He made this known via e-mail to Platforms Communications recently at the 3rd Edition of A Day With Nigeria Maritime Students 2018.
In the letter the company stated that the Best Graduating Nautical Science Student will work as Deck Cadet while the Best Graduating Marine Engineering Student will work as Engine Cadet on Starzs vessels during the duration of their sea time experience with the company.
The management of Platforms Communications appreciates and commends Starzs Group for the kind gesture, and calls on other maritime giants to do same.
