APPEAL FOR CALM AMONG AGITATING FREIGHT FORWARDERS OVER PTML IDENTITY CARD

The management of the National Association of Government Approved Freight
Forwarders (NAGAFF) is using this medium to appeal for calm among freight
forwarders currently agitating over the controversial and contentious Port
Access/Identity Card policy of the authorities at the PTML.

This call has become imperative to avert the likely consequences of any
form of protest or demonstration as disgruntled elements could hijack the
genuine struggle of the agitating freight forwarders to wreak havoc.

We wish to inform freight forwarders and other stakeholders affected by
this PTML Port Access/Identity Card policy that genuine efforts involving
all parties are ongoing towards resolving the contentious issues to the
benefit of freight forwarders and in the interest of our dear country
Nigeria.  NAGAFF is already in talks with the Federal Ministry of
Transport and some agencies of Government like the Nigerian Shippers

NPA MANAGEMENT REVIVES NIPOSA GAMES AFTER

After nearly 17 years of Lull in activity, Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has now revived the annual Nigerian Ports Sports Association (NIGOSA) Game which was last held in 2001. All is now set for the 2018 edition of the game which will hold from Wednesday, 9th and Friday, 11th May, 2018 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Cross River State. According to the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of NIPOSA, Mrs. Ugo Madubuike, the contributions of some personalities described as heroes and heroines of NIPOSA (present and past), will be acknowledged through same Awards in the following categories - Outstanding Patrons/Matrons, Active Heroes of Past NIPOSA Games, Stakeholders of 2018 Games, and Participatory Award of 2018 NIPOSA Games.
