The Mercedes-Benzhas started to construct five battery plants in three continents. The car giant has formally kick-started a battery plant in Kamenz, Germany. This plantbeing the second of five such plants that will be operational in three continents by the start of the next decade, including one in the United States.
The U.S. plant will be constructed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at a $1billion . It’s where Mercedes already has a vehicle plant that’s earmarked to start construction of electric cars in the coming years.
The automaker is also taking a holistic approach on the road to zero emissions and thus is also focused on improving the emissions of internal combustion engines, offering hybrid options across its lineup, adding hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and building up the required charging infrastructure for future plug-ins.

Bayero University Commences Degree Programme in Petroleum Engineering

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Bayero University Kano (BUK) have pledged to partner in the ongoing exploratory activities in the frontier basins across the country.
Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru, made this known Thursday when the Vice Chancellor of BUK, Prof. Muhammad Yahuza Bello, paid him a visit at the Corporation’s headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Baru said the Corporation would always identify with the Ivory Towers because its work force was drawn from the universities.

“Your visit would open up opportunities for collaboration between NNPC and your university and we are looking forward to receiving your inputs”, Dr. Baru Stated.

He said while the Corporation was not keen on setting up a university, it had nonetheless established the NNPC Learning Academy which trains high level manpower for the Oil and Gas Industry, adding that it offered short term high level technical courses capable of enhancing the oil industry operations.

To start with, we must inform our stakeholders and the general public that the Authority relied on the advice of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, in arriving at the decision to terminate the contract. This legal advice was sought after more than one year of attempts to get Intels to comply with the Federal Government’s directive on the Treasury Single Account (TSA) The first such correspondence was through a letter written by the former Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Mr. Olumide Oduntan on June 28, 2016 directing the company to pay all revenues collected on behalf of the NPA into the TSA sub account at the CBN.
