EXECUTIVE ORDER: CUSTOMS DEMANDS SUBMISSION OF MANIFEST WITHIN 7 DAYS.

In preparedness to achieve the Executive Order given by the Acting President Prof. Yemi Osibanjo on ease of doing business and achievement of 24 hours port operations at the ports, the Nigeria Customs Service have insisted that advanced cargo manifest be submitted within 7 days before the arrival of the vessel to the nation's seaport.
The Service also directed that import and export documents be reduced from 14 to 8 whereas that of export be reduced from 10 to 7.

This declaration was made public by the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Col. Hammed Ali (rtd) at a one-day town hall meeting organised by the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON). Col. Ali emphasized the advance cargo manifest would enable risk management profile and separation on time before ship arrival.

OGUN POLICE ARRESTS FATHER FOR CHAINING SON TO A POST

The Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 41 yr old man Adeoye Oreyomi for assaulting his son and chaining him to a post.
Mr. Oreyomi had accused his son 13- year old son Demola Oreyomi of stealing his N2000 and in the process had stripped him naked and bound him hands and feet with chains.
The State Spokesperson SP Abimbola Oyeyemi stated on Tuesday that the suspect who resides at 9, Dokun Street Ewuga Shagamu claimed his son stole his N2,000 naira and as a result stripped the boy naked before using a chain to lock both hands and feet of the lad.
He iterated that neighbors who witnessed the assault feared the boy might due to the savageryand quickly alerted the Police at Shagamu Divisional Headquarters and the DPO SP Aduroja Moses led his men to the scene.  The boy who was soaked in his own blood was rescued and taken to Owokoniran hospital Shagamu for medical attention.
The suspect has been arrested.

SHEHU SHAGARI ARRESTED FOR INVOLVEMENT WITH KIDNAP SYNDICATE

In response to the IGPs deployment of about 600 Police patrol teams comprising Special Intervention Forces (SIF), SARS, Anti-kidnapping Units, Special Tactical Squad (STS), Intelligence Response Unit (IRT), Mobile Police Force, Counter Terrorism Unit and ninety patrol vehicles to curb the kidnap menace perpetrated along the Kaduna/Abuja highway; the joint task force have swept in and arrested a notorious 8-man kidnap gang.

The Police Public Relations Officer at the Force headquarters Abuja, CSP Jimoh Moshood made this known in a statement to journalists on Monday.
The statement adds that the arrest was sequel to the IGPs order to curb kidnappings perpetrated on the Kaduna/Abuja highway, stop the violent crimes done against motorists and ensure a hitch free movement of commuters.
